About Life Admin Clarity

Life Admin Clarity is a small, UK-based website created by me, Paul Staves.

The goal is simple: to make pre-death life admin and executor jobs a bit less overwhelming for ordinary adults in England and Wales.

Why I started this site

I have seen in people around me, how hard it can be when someone dies and nothing is written down:

  • Nobody is sure who is “in charge”.
  • Important documents and logins are scattered across drawers, email accounts and phones.
  • Executors and close family are trying to do complex admin at the worst possible time.

There are plenty of technical legal resources online, but not much that explains the practical side in calm, plain English.

Life Admin Clarity grew out of a simple question:

“What would actually make life easier for my own executor and family, and how can I capture that now rather than leave it to chance?”

The tools and guides on this site are the result.

Who this site is for

Life Admin Clarity is mainly for:

  • Adults in England and Wales who want to get their affairs in better order while they are alive.
  • People who are already acting as an executor, or the main organiser after a death, and need practical help with the jobs in front of them.

You do not need to be “good at admin”. The aim is to give you enough structure to feel more in control, without turning everything into a huge project.

What you will find here

On this site you will find:

  • Short guides that explain key concepts such as who is actually in charge after a death, who needs to be told and what happens with bills and digital access.
  • Checklists and timelines that break big jobs into realistic steps.
  • Notes and templates you can fill in now to help your future executor.
  • FAQs that answer the small but important questions people often search for.

Over time I plan to add more digital downloads, including the Executor Clarity Pack: a structured spreadsheet and set of templates that bring the main information together in one place.

What this site is not

Life Admin Clarity is not:

  • A legal, financial, tax or medical advice service.
  • A replacement for a solicitor, financial adviser or other regulated professional.
  • A “done for you” executor service.

I try to keep information up to date and accurate, but laws and official processes change. You should always check GOV.UK, Citizens Advice and other trusted sources, and get personalised advice where needed.

Nothing on this site creates a solicitor–client or adviser–client relationship between us.

How I work

A few principles guide how I create content:

  • Plain English
I avoid jargon where possible and explain necessary terms in simple language.
  • Realistic effort
I assume you have limited time, energy and attention. Most resources are designed to be used in small chunks.
  • UK focus
Content is written with England and Wales in mind. I may occasionally mention differences for Scotland and Northern Ireland where that matters.
  • Privacy and respect
I do not ask for more personal information than I need to run the site or respond to you. You can read more in the Privacy Policy.

Get in touch

You can contact me through the Contact page. I cannot reply to every message, but I do read all feedback and use it to improve the site over time.
